Vern Claiborne Memorial
MODIFIED TOP GUN SHOOTOUT
On June 7, 2008 we attended the Vern Claiborne Memorial Race at
the Adrian Speedway in Adrian, Missouri. Fans of Adrian Speedway
gathered to honor racing legend Vern Claiborne and see a great night
of racing. A total of 35 modifieds from 7 states came to compete in
the event put on by Andy Claiborne and staff of Adrian Speedway.
Alex had a great time participating in this night of racing and with a
3rd place finish in his heat race was able to qualify for the A main
event. He started 14th in the feature event and moved up to 11th but
ended 15th after some three and four wide racing. Local driver Matt
Johnson held off a strong field of modifieds to win the A main event.
Curtis Allen and Andy Claiborne laid claim to the B feature wins.
